Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts thanks you for doing the right thing and staying at home during the coronavirus crisis. If a life spent watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has taught us anything, it’s that teamwork…and pizza…make the difference. While, SpongeBob SquarePants shows us the power of imagination. So, we’re asking you to embrace your inner SpongeBob to make these days at home the Best Days Ever!

While you’re sheltering in place from COVID-19, home schooling, and making three meals a day (plus snacks!), we applaud your efforts as super parents and guardians of young Nickelodeon fans. With you in mind, we’ve compiled a list of fun activities for kids as a way to bring the spirit of Nick Resorts to your home.

1. Nickelodeon Slime Smoothies Your Kids’ll Gulp

At Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts, we get the Nick VIP vibe going upon arrival when we greet all of our guests with a yummy in your tummy Nickelodeon Slime Smoothie. The recipe for this sweet, green concoction is a well-guarded secret, but we’ve provided the ingredients so that you can blend to taste and serve as a home-school treat! Combine baby spinach, peeled banana, vanilla yogurt or milk of your choice, and ice in a blender and mix until completely smooth. Chill and serve.

2. Host Your Own Nickelodeon-Themed Pajama Jam Breakfast

If your family has pajamas and breakfast foods, you’re already halfway to hosting your own version of Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts’ amazing Pajama Jam Character Breakfast. Every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday morning, Nickelodeon characters Dora the Explorer, Boots, Chase & Marshall of PAW Patrol, Cosmo and Wanda of The Fairly Oddparents, SpongeBob Square Pants and Patrick Star join families for breakfast at Zest restaurant. Let our menu inspire you to serve up eggs, bacon, pancakes, fresh fruit, juices and more during your family Pajama Jam. Of course, since you’re the chef, the “vittles” are up to you. Perhaps French toast, waffles, turkey sausage, oatmeal or yogurt are more of a crowd-pleaser at your house.

Make the Pajama Jam pop with a danceable playlist that includes tunes from Dora the Explorer, PAW Patrol and your kids’ other favorite Nickelodeon shows, available for download or streaming. Of course, we would never forget about SpongeBob SquarePants, who has an entire album of hits available for streaming or download, aptly named SpongeBob’s Greatest Hits. Dance to 17 tracks, including the original theme song, a funky remake by Cee-Lo, as well as “We’ve Got Scurvy,” performed by P!nk, “The Goofy Goober Song,” “The Best Day Ever” and more.

3. Bigger Meals, Bigger Smiles — Like the Machete Burger at BRGRS.PH

With a sensational selection of toppings, freshly baked buns, and delicious combinations, there’s no such thing as “just a burger” at BRGRS.PH, the restaurant with a food truck inside, at Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana.

The Machete Burger is about a foot in diameter, large enough to feed a whole family. What if other foods were extra-large? Don’t just imagine it. Make it happen. Eyes will bulge when they wake up to a breakfast of 12” pancakes or sit down to a shared dinner of spaghetti and a ginormous meatball. How about a 2-foot-long sub sandwich to share for lunch or an afternoon snack of a 12” cookie? And the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fans will scream “Cowabunga!” when you serve them a shareable slice of homemade pizza as long as their arm.

4. Turn Your Backyard into a Mini Aqua Nick

One of the favorite features of Nick Resorts is the Aqua Nick water park, always included in your stay. While you’re sheltering in place, you can make your home a fun-soaked hangout with a backyard water park. Supervision is key when water is involved, so always keep your eye on the kids to prevent any accidents.

Preschoolers and toddlers love a splash pad that squirts water at every step. For bigger kids, fill a kiddie pool with water balloons and stand back — way back. For a grand finale, make a Self-Sliming Station! Fill buckets with water, add drops of green food coloring, raise the bucket overhead and countdown from 5 to douse all your Nickelodeon fans and create your own Super Sliming. Five… four… three… two… one… SLIME!

5. Give SpongeBob’s Pineapple Home a Colorful Makeover

Among the stylish, all-inclusive accommodations at Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana, the Pineapple Villa is our most luxe and indulgent place to stay. This exterior and interior of this two-story, 2,000-square-foot villa is inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants’ Bikini Bottom abode.

We kept SpongeBob’s yellow, pineapple-esque exterior, but it’s your turn to reimagine the look of 124 Conch Street. Enjoy indoor fun for kids with this downloadable Pineapple Villa coloring sheet from the Nickelodeon Parents website. Grab your crayons, markers, watercolors or make it a mixed media masterpiece. It’s up to you!

6. It’s Slime Time

When you think of Nickelodeon, Slime is always top of mind! At Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts, we bring Slime by the gallon. Personal Slimings at Aqua Nick are a must-do for families. While you’re home-schooling, add an awesome chemistry lesson and make a batch of green Slime with just a few simple ingredients. Visit Nickelodeon Parents online for the formula.
