We hope you enjoyed 6 Activities to Create Nick Resorts Fun at Home, loaded with fun and inspiring ideas for all ages. Like you, we have been sheltering in place from COVID-19 while we wait to welcome you back to Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana, with its soft Caribbean sands, luxe accommodations, Aqua Nick water park, Slime and more. We’ve been thinking about ways to keep you entertained at home as well, offering up more fun ways to fill the days with Nick-themed indoor fun for kids.

1. On a Roll with PAW Patrol

We can’t wait to see you hanging out with the PAW Patrol at our Pajama Jam Character Breakfast at Nick Resorts, featuring live appearances by Nick Jr. characters Chase and Marshall. In the meantime, your family can be the heroes of your very own PAW Patrol.

This is one of our favorite things to do with toddlers. Everyone starts by picking their favorite PAW Patrol pup: Chase the police pup, Marshall the fire rescue pup, Skye the aerial rescue pup, or Rubble the construction pup. Make it official with a PAWsome PAW Patrol badge. Visit the Nickelodeon Parents website for a PAW Patrol badge template that you can print and color together.

As soon as everyone’s got their badge and their job, it’s time for action! Do the Pup Pup Boogie with Rubble and Skye. Get the team to the rescue when a stuffed animal goes missing somewhere in the house. You can also use this activity to teach or reinforce some important life lessons, such as Recycling with Rocky by creating art out of recycled items and learning Fire Safety with Marshall, such as “stop, drop and roll,” fire drills and planning an exit strategy. Once the mission is ready, yelp for help and get your PAW Patrol team on a roll.

2. Cowabunga! Cool Off with Teenage mutant ninja turtles Mutant Mint Swirl Ice Cream

With a color for each of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles — Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael and Leornardo — this fun and refreshing treat is a great way to recreate a warm, beachy day at Nickelodeon Resort Punta Cana. This recipe makes one quart of the tasty stuff. You’ll need: heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, peppermint extract, gel food coloring, a loaf pan and at least one fun adult to supervise!

Wait! What’s the gel food coloring for? Thanks for asking. Have each family member choose their favorite turtle and color their ice cream with blue, orange, purple, or red to match the mask of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello or Raphael.

For complete Mint Swirl Ice Cream ingredients and instructions, visit Nickelodeon Parents online.

3. Explore Like Dora on a Scavenger Hunt

Perhaps your Dora the Explorer fan has a birthday approaching, or you just want to make any day special. Turn your backyard or living room into an outdoor adventure with a Dora-themed scavenger hunt. Each explorer will need a magnifying glass as well as a DIY Dora the Explorer Backpack filled with clues and these adorably yummy string cheese sticks inspired by Dora’s friend Map. You can find both of these crafts at Nickelodeon Parents online.

You’re just a few steps away from one of our fave fun activities for kids. Create a list or slips of paper that tell the little ones what they’re scavenging for. Various insects, birds, squirrels and flowers are great ideas. Perhaps your pets will make the list. They should be easy to find. You can make the list a little more abstract and include clues such as “Something that moves,” “Something that’s red,” “Something that starts with the letter E,” and “A leaf the size of your hand.”

4. Bring “Story Time with Dora the Explorer” Home

Within Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana, guests ages 4 to12 years old love Club Nick, a supervised place of fun and play designed just for them. One of the great things to do with toddlers is Story Time with Dora. You don’t always have to save the stories for bedtime. Instead, set up a special story time spot in your home with stuffed toys and pillows.

Dora’s favorite Story Time literature is Little Red Riding Hood, or La Caperucita Roja en Español. Grab some of your child’s favorite picture books or download some new e-books and take a few minutes each day to create a special time they’ll never forget.

5. Create Your Own Nickelodeon Family Fiesta

From the Caribbean beach to Nickelodeon Place, Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts creates entertainment and activities that kids and grownups love. That includes the resort’s beachfront Family Fiesta. With a few toys, props and a little imagination, it’s easy to make any day a party and host your own Family Fiesta featuring balloon animals, face painting, music and snacks. Bust out the hula hoops for a hula hoopla challenge. Waist, arm, leg, neck! Whoever twirls the longest gets an extra Nickelodeon Slime Smoothie!

We can’t wait to see you at Nickelodeon Resort Punta, so start planning when you’ll join us for fun with Nickelodeon characters, Slime, entertainment, delicious dining and beautiful Caribbean beaches.
